Managing Employment risks for HR Business Partners and Professionals
This course explores the major flashpoints for business and HR professionals. How the big issues are tackled can determine how costly the process is, the impact on the organisation’s image, reputation and morale. The course is highly interactive and will be led by an Employment Barrister and an HRBP who are also both workplace mediators. This mix will bring you all you need to know to handle the major challenges to HR Professionals:
- Long term sickness, disability and stress at work
- Discrimination – both direct and indirect
- Performance management particularly around stress at work, disability and psychiatric illness
- Disciplinary and Grievance procedures – when and how to investigate and how and when to mediate?
- How to have protected discussions about termination and the pitfalls to avoid
- What should go in a settlement agreement and what should not?
The course is not aimed at providing legal advice on a particular case, but more to equip HR professionals with the tools and the confidence to manage the various potential crises in a way that limits exposure for the organisation.
The HR theory and employment law sections will be interspersed with lively, challenging, practical exercises in small groups.
The day will include a confidential case clinic and provides an environment where professionals can share experiences with one another.
A must for all HR professionals!
This course will run with a minimum of 10 delegates. If there are fewer than 10 delegates a full refund will be provided.
