Gillian Higgins is an accredited civil and commercial mediator to international standard.

Having practised as a barrister for 19 years, Gillian has a broad and varied experience of using both negotiation and mediation skills in dealing with complex and sensitive domestic and international situations. She now heads up the International Practice Group at The Chambers of 9 Bedford Row in London.

As a civil and commercial mediator, Gillian is skilled at navigating complicated factual and legal situations and is innovative in helping those involved to find creative solutions to difficult situations. She is adept at employing her communication skills to get to the heart of the matter in a calm and professional manner, and is able to put those participating quickly at ease.

If there is no settlement on the day, Gillian is always eager to help and continue working with the participants to achieve resolution.

Education

Gillian is an international criminal barrister and civil and commercial mediator. She has lectured on matters of international criminal law around the world and has been involved in mediation training in the UK and The Hague. She is also a qualified meditation teacher and trains professionals on how to bring meditation into the workplace. She is also a founding member of the International Criminal Law Bureau.
