One Day Representing Clients at Mediation Course (6 hours)

The course provides an overview of the mediation process and the role of mediator. The main focus though, is the role of mediation advocate. The course will cover selecting and instructing a mediator, including what to provide in the mediation bundle, position statements and confidential "mediator eyes only" documents.

The skills of a mediation advocate are different to those of courtroom advocate and include preparing a strategy for the mediation, knowing how to use the mediator, understanding risk assessment techniques, added value, impasse strategies and how and when to make offers that are likely to maximise the opportunity for settlement.

This course provides delegates with the skills to prepare for and engage in mediations with confidence.

LSM delivers exceptional mediation skills training internationally. All of its faculty members are experienced and practicing mediators as well as first class tutors. This course will be led by practicing Barristers and non-practicing Solicitors from our faculty.

There will be a mix of interactive training, workshop discussions and role play with coaching.
